Children at Clare love gymnastics! Children in Years 2-6 had the opportunity to perform the sequences they had created with a partner to another class. Performers and audiences were all excellent. Thank you for all your hard work.

Years 4, 5 and 6 will be walking up to Stour Valley school on the morning of March 15th to watch the annual Dance showcase presented by pupils. I am sure it will be as impressive and inspiring as it was last year. It is lovely to see many of our ex-pupils excelling at Stour Valley, and we look forward to increased collaboration between our two schools.

Curriculum PE

This term Acorn, Beech and Cedar have been focussing on gymnastics and indoor tennis. KS2 children have been performing the Gay Gordons and Strip the Willow, alongside some 'freestyle' traditional dance. This culminated in our annual 'Strictly come Scottish Dancing!' championship. Fantastic! KS2 classes have also been focussing on gymnastics, using a range of apparatus in the hall, and developing sequences which they are preparing to perform to each other.

Hockey Tournament

It was great to be able to escort two Y6 teams to the hockey tournament at TGS in January. The children demonstrated a positive attitude, finely honed skills and excellent team work. Well done teams! It was very disappointing to have our Sportshall athletics competition cancelled at short notice, particularly as we had so many children lined up to participate.

Spring Term clubs

We have been delighted to continue our partnership with Matt's great group of coaches at Prestige Sports who provide our school with a good selection of after school clubs at a very reasonable price. This term we have offered football, dodgeball, street dance and multi skills. Mrs Spencer has also offered yoga, table tennis and cricket this term. School sports clubs are an excellent opportunity for children to further develop health, fitness and sport specific skills alongside those of communication and team work.
