Diwali dance performance

posted 3 Nov 2014, 11:00 by S Spencer
Beech class performed their Diwali dance for the school on our Diwali day just before half term. They used actions and gestures to portray the characters of Rama and Sita in paired work, and performed a 'Bollywood' sequence in canon. Fantastic performance Beech class! And thank you to Y5 for sharing their moves with the younger children. Elm and Cedar classes enjoyed their shared taster sessions of Indian dance during the day and teachers were amazed at the progress the children made in such a short time. Excellent focus and attitude. Well done! Acorn and Elm classes will be exploring 'Elf school'/ 'Santa's workshop' themes in dance during this half term. Cedar and Beech will be thinking about 'Christmas journeys'. Larch and Oak will be combining learning in traditional and creative dance, and Hazel will also be exploring movement and expression through dance. We also have our Christmas performances to look forward to.
