Healthy Eating

The school has achieved Healthy School status and has a policy of encouraging healthy eating. To this end, the children are encouraged to bring a fruit snack to eat at playtime. Sweets, biscuits and crisps are not allowed as snacks. In addition, the school participates in the national free fruit scheme, which offers all children, in Reception and Years 1 and 2, a free piece of fruit daily.
The school also has a policy of making drinking water accessible to the children at all times. Many children bring their own water, in spill proof bottles.
A varied menu of healthy lunches is prepared on the premises by our excellent kitchen staff (click here for our most recent menu). Free school meals are available to families in receipt of certain benefits. Please enquire at the school office for further details.
